Yep the All Blacks did it. I must admit walking to the game I was a little nervous. The Ozzies had nothing to lose and they could’ve thrown everything at the All Blacks, which in patches they did.
What concerns me most about last night and this year in particular is the absolute lack of Wallaby-ness the men in yellow have shown. Allow me to point a couple of fingers.
Israel Folau should be one of the greatest rugby players ever. He’s big and strong, has magnificent ball skills and is quick. Yet, every time he gets a gap he does nothing. If he simply put the hammer down even a couple times last night we were in trouble. This was why Jason Robinson was so good for the Poms…a convert code jumper who could make you look silly. Folau needs that.
Stephen Moore is a good forward no doubt. Decent skills but hardly a player that you’d look up to. Scott Fardy is an uncompromising bastard who would be that famous thorn in the side of teams world wide.
Dean Mumm seems content with running about trying to piss people off rather than playing hard go forward. Michael Hooper is much the same and was far out played by our third choice 7 where David Pocock would be much better and way more effective. On the back of some damaging ball running from Timani, Pocock would have been awesome, broken mit and all.
Lastly, when was the last time a Wallaby outfit lost seven tests in a season? Can’t remember, don’t care. What is a problem is that they’ve have been relegated to a trash side. This lays firmly at the feet of their serial nut case coach- Michael Chieka. What a fruit cake. I see in his press conference he blamed all and sundry for the losses and how the All Blacks have somehow infiltrated the NZ Herald and disrespected them via cartoons or some other mindless nonsense that the Herald seem to be adept at doing. The only disrespectful behaviour I see is that the unshaven unkempt Chieka who looks as if he hasn’t showered in days, is doing to Australian Rugby. My opinion on the matter counts for nothing but I have had some dealing with the ARU in recent months and if they read this – please, for the benefit of us let alone you – get rid of Michael Chieka. He is an absolute disaster. Piss poor selection policies, incoherent ramblings at press conferences, needless needling of other coaches and teams and general shitness (it took five goes to get that word past auto correct) leads the rest of the rugby playing world to the same conclusion. The Wallabies have only one weakness. Please for the sake of world rugby – get better and fast.
