Some years I just don’t care. Other years I’m truly excited. The NFL Playoffs are awesome. Some close games, some terrible refereeing decisions, some political inferences, great hits and great plays. It seems refereeing can be bad in all games.
Anyway, I will be watching the NFC and AFC Championship games with interest and looking for another couple close games. Green Bay will play Indiana and the defending champs, Seattle, play New England.
The Green Bay Packers will play The Colts after the Colts outlasted Peyton Manning’s Broncos – the irony of which isn’t lost on anybody that follows the NFL. Green Bay held off a brave charge and an almost disastrous refereeing decision to make another playoff.
Seattle cruised like a seahawk past Carolina who looked flat at best. Tom Brady berated the referees (with good reason) and led a late charge for the Pats against a pretty good Baltimore side.
What’s impressive for me, about all these games is the sheer athleticism of the players. Different, yes, to the sport I usually watch but superb none-the-less. Those quarterbacks can throw that pigskin like a Randy Johnson Fast Ball. And….accurate – jesus!!
What’s particularly exciting is the SuperBowl being in my former hometown, Glendale, Arizona. The same weekend as the Phoenix Open – which doubles as the Tiger Woods Show debut for 2015. My only regret – not being there that weekend!!
My apologies for an unusually upbeat post but, I’ll take moments of levity when I can.
