The Rabittohs ended a hundred year drought and won the NRL Grand final in a great display of rugby league. Let’s not forget this was the shittest team in the competition on a regular basis until the Gladiator got involved. He has transformed this side into a great team (no doubt at significant damage to his wallet) and assembled some great players. The Burgess boys of course, Inglis and Isaac Luke to name a few. But, what is most striking to me is the team atmosphere created. It seems like the team actually cares for one another. The coach gave his ring to Isaac Luke who had been banned from the medal celebration. Rusty (Russell Crowe) embraced the players like a proud father and there was genuine joy. The greatest thing for me on the night was the fact that the Dogs lost. That’s not terribly sporting of me but the NRL seems to bring passion to the support of the teams and ill wishes on the others. Bad luck dogs – but beaten by bunnies!!
