All Blacks V South Africa…Number 1 V Number 2

A classic test. Punch and counter punch. I am a purist when it comes to my game and last night’s test was exactly that….a test. A test of will. A test of character. A test of mettle.  The All Blacks came out on top of a contest that for a large part of the 80 minutes, could have gone either way. Perhaps some inexperience in key positions cost the mighty Boks.

What I really want to say today is, sorry for the lack of posting in the last week.  I attended my brother’s wedding on the Gold Coast last week and spent a fair bit of the time ensconced in a glass of Mr. John Daniels’ finest creation.

Secondly, isn’t Jean de Villiers a fantastic ambassador for our game.  By our game I mean rugby. By our game I mean sports. A fantastic competitor and captain for his team. An articulate speaker. A clear thinker and a pleasure to watch. And, last night played his 100th test for his country. In this age of massive egos and bigger pay cheques what a great sportsman he is.

Right – off to get changed for the shield defense – The Magpies V Otago. For my English readers – I will NOT be wearing a Cagoule!!! One must wear footy-wear.

With any luck in a few hours I’ll be posting again with a grin.
