WTF happened to the NPC?

Waikato, Wellington, Auckland, Bay of Plenty. All Premiership teams in the ITM Cup. For those international bods reading this, the ITM Cup is New Zealand’s provincial rugby championship, and the very pride of provincial types like me.
The teams listed above are all teams that have, to date, sucked something awful. Wellington lost two games the whole of last season and have been roundly bummed by all and sundry this year. Auckland are bad. Bay of Plenty, traditionally a great attacking and structured side haven’t won a game. And Waikato haven’t yet fired a shot. You might argue that these teams are restructuring, or have young talent. I see it slightly differently. Since when did a team from the top of the South Island (the Makos) travel to Auckland and expect to win. In the end it was a draw.
My Magpies have beaten two premiership teams from the division below. What is this?
I’ll tell you. It’s a hair brained fucking scheme by some morons to shorten the competition so the Super XV can exist. Why do we have 14 teams, that, one year to the next can compete with each other in two separate competitions?
With beating the bush or even around it, it’s farcical. A wee note to those idiots that think this is for the betterment of our game; FIX IT!!! And better yet…scrap the fucking Super XV for a trans Tasman NPC that will develop players and keep them around. The South African Currie Cup is a great competition and am sure they would be better off too, without the Super XV.
Like it or not, rugby union is competing against the NRL in Australia and rugby viewing is down, I think, as a result of the Super XV and a saturation when it finally gets to the ITM Cup. Time to fix the fucking thing and make the whole thing greater. Moreover, just a thought for my Southern Hemisphere brothers and sisters, do we need the IRB?
Let’s rethink the whole deal.IMG_0801.JPG
