Have I come to the end? Of my golf career? Oh no. It came to me tonight out of the blue. Golf is rooted (translate to fucked for my non-New Zealand readers). The marquee event in NZ golf is playing this week in Queenstown; the New Zealand Open. It should have been the NZPGA, but that’s another story. NO LIVE COVERAGE. None. Wow. Rocco mediate is here. Ricky Ponting is playing. The organisers can’t afford to put it on the telly. Call it marketing or long term advertising, get the exposure for golf in New Zealand on TV!!! There is lots of college basketball, lots of soccer ( with all 8000 showing up live to Phoenix games). No golf. The sport is played seriously by about 150000 New Zealanders and casually by another 300000 odd. Get it out there. 450000 people is a hell of a market for a small country. Can someone try to grow this bitch instead of watching it fade?
Stark realisation

I'm a former golf pro and sports fanatic. I am particularly passionate about rugby and golf, but have a major interest in all sports. My retirement from the golf world meant that I needed some outlet for my sporting voice (hence the name) so I decided to write my thoughts down. Hopefully you enjoy or are touched some way by my posts and hope that you can interact with me regarding whatever it is you want to. Peace Guys and Gals View all posts by mysportingvoice
